Rakursi Art Gallery was opened in 2004 in the Sofia city center by Rositsa Chusheva and Rumyana Yoneva. The gallery is focused on modern and contemporary Bulgarian and international art. Rakursi Art Gallery is a living space with active program, which includes trainings, workshops, lectures and various activities for attracting the audience to Art. For the time of its existence Rakursi has hosted more than 150 exhibitions of leading artists and innovative newcomers. It realizes own curatorial projects, participates in Art Fairs (Art Ireland 2007, Art Athens 2016), festivals and presents contemporary Bulgarian art abroad (Berlin, London, Antwerp). The gallery collaborates with universities, schools and institutions on projects linked in cultural and creative industries. The aim of the gallery is to broaden the dialogue among the artists, art lovers and art collectors, to communicate with young people and to bring art to public of different backgrounds and education. The gallery’s team works with different communities on socially committed projects. Every year the gallery realized own curatorial project for young artists. Since 2010 Rakursi is a partner of the annual Award for promising development and devotion to art of Edmond Demirdjian Foudation. Periodically the gallery presents exhibitions of significant private collections.
