About
PUNTA is a contemporary art gallery with a focus on "trash art" (art on the border of the aesthetic), located in a former jewelry store at 13 Dunav St., Sofia. It is founded in April 2022 by curator Boyana Djikova and artists Aaron Roth and Vikenti Komitski.
The projects in the space are oriented towards the use of recycled images and materials, post-internet aesthetics, the treatment of topics such as the climate crisis and social issues. The gallery presents young and established, Bulgarian and foreign artists.
PUNTA's goal is to give artists a field for experimentation to create a site-specific project for the space. PUNTA is a natural extension of POSTA gallery, as one project sometimes extends into both spaces at the same time.
Among the exhibitions held in PUNTA gallery are: "Arboreous Psychopomp Hypersigil", Valko Chobanov (2022); "Reagan's Press Room", Brad Downey (2022); "Gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss", Cvetomira Borisova (2022); "In the beginning was everything", Karin Fauchard (2022); "Untitled", Dessislava Terzieva (2022).
