About
The main themes that shape her artistic practice are the individual's connection with their environment and its deviations—through feelings of alienation, escapism, but also intimacy as a starting point for these phenomena. In her work, Tsvetomira addresses universal psychological processes that are often "unpopular" in the contemporary culture of hyperproductivity - such as the exhibition "Changes," which deals with the decision to quit. Her work also comments on phenomena from popular culture and intertwines them with historical and mythological narratives, analyzing and speculatively reconstructing them in relation to present-day reality. Examples include the exhibitions "Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss," where the artist recreates the attributes of the successful woman, such as a leash on the three-headed dog Cerberus, and "Death at the Dinner Table: An Exploration of the Case of Johann Schobert and the Poisonous Mushrooms", which examines the poisoning of the 18th century French composer with poisonous mushrooms from the perspective of contemporary sciences. The artist uses recognizable images of the present in constructing her narratives, weaving into her work figures such as the Kennedy family, characters from the Bulgarian TV series "Dunav Bridge", Dasha Nekrasova, Bella Hadid, Grimes, and others.
