Biography
Prof. Boris Seginov PhD. Born May 14th 1968 in the city of Pernik, lives in Sofia. Graduates from the secondary art school for fine arts (Sofia) in 1987 and then in 1994 from The National Academy of Arts with painting as specialty. In 2007 he defends a dissertation on the topic of "Traditional and modern means of visualization in industrial design" and was awarded by the Higher Attestation Commission with an educational and scientific degree of PhD. In 2009 defends the scientific title of associate professor, awarded by the Higher Attestation Commission. He obtains the degree with the thesis "Design and computer graphics in public interior". In 2016 he defends the scientific degree of professor (design, interior design) in New Bulgarian University. Leads and participates in dozens of projects in the sphere of design, conceptual design, land art also is a curator of many exhibitions, festivals and presentations such as the International traveling seminars, exhibitions, concerts and performances intitled "Presentation of contemporary art and design by NBU (New Bulgarian University) in Barcelona" (01.03-29.04.2019); the international, interdisciplinary, travelling seminar "Biomorphic Forms - Preserving Coral 2019"; the May Days of Design 2019 produced by NBU and the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Dortmund (Germany) 20-27.05.2019 and many others. He taught at the Jules Pasquin Free Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia, at the Secondary Art School for Applied Arts in Sofia, at the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski ”(specialty“ Pedagogy of Fine Arts ”), at the National Academy of Arts (specialty“ Industrial Design ”).Since 2001 he has been teaching "Modern Design Tools" and "Urban Design" in the Department of Design and Architecture at the New Bulgarian University. Since 2005 he has been the director of the master's program "Fashion Clothing Design" and the bachelor's program "Interior Design" in the Department of Plastic Arts and Architecture of NBU.From 2011 to 2020 he is head of the Design and Architecture Department at NBU.Member of the Academic Council of NBU and member of the Faculty Council of the master’s Faculty since 2007. Since 2020 he is the dean of the master's faculty of NBU.One of the founders of the Sofia UNDERGOUND association, a member of the art group Art in Action, a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists and others.

About
In the 1990's he was one of the most famous Bulgarian "unconventional" artists with radical, often provocative performances. Many of his performances in the 1990s were made in partnership with Gabriela Petrova, e.g. in the Sofia gallery "XXL" or during the festival Sofia Underground. His creative projects are in the field of visualization in design, interior design, computer graphics and colouring, performance, installation, photography, painting, electronic painting, mural, music and poetry. His works and installations are stored in the collections of the National Art Gallery in Sofia, the collection of Luciano Benetton, the City Gallery of Pernik, in the collections of M-Tel, Dimont and the Bulgarian Embassy in the United States, in public and private collections in Finland, Japan, Canada, France, Russia, etc. Boris Serginov participates in a large number of national and general exhibitions, exhibitions and festivals. Under the pseudonym Bobo he participated as a vocal, saxophone, piano, flute in the punk group "Bobo, Tosho and Tabakov", unofficially disbanded.
