About
Nestled in Varna's historic 200-year-old gunpowder warehouse, the vibrant cultural hub, ReBonkers, is not just a space but a revival of heritage. Thanks to the meticulous restoration efforts by the Talyana Association between 2017 and 2021, this building stands as the city's oldest preserved gem. Back in the 90s, it even played host to Bulgaria's inaugural independent music scene stage, Bonkers. Paying homage to this cultural legacy, the contemporary hotspot adopted the name ReBonkers.
For 2022 ReBonkers has emerged as the epicenter of alternative contemporary culture along the seaside. Its debut year saw a roster of over 140 artists spanning visual arts, music, cinema, theater, performance, and design. It has become the go-to stage for those seeking a taste of the avant-garde in this coastal city. Today, ReBonkers stands tall as the most dynamic cultural nucleus in Bulgaria's seaside capital, offering a continuous, eclectic program that keeps enthusiasts on their toes.
While contemporary visual arts take center stage, ReBonkers boasts an open, multidisciplinary program that keeps the creative energy flowing. The ReBonkers team organizes the "Art and Science in the Museum" creative residency, the art forums "Tropic of Cancer" and "BUNA," and collaborates as a key force behind Varna Art Map and the Night of Museums and Galleries in Varna.
