About
The sculpture is my creed.
It could be seen in all my activities and displays, through its principles I perceive the world, regardless of what I do and what kind of media I express myself as an artist. For me it is the most complex, comprehensive and hard about making art.
I define myself as a conceptual artist in the broadest sense. I have always been attracted by the visual mix of different arts and combining visual and conceptual searches. During the years in a part of my works, photographs have inspired me for series of drawings and in another part, painting and sculpture were inspiration for my photographic series.
Over the past few years I have been creating a new body of work which is based on my education as a sculptor, but also on my long experience in different fields of art, especially the one of the photography. Last few exhibitions are chronicle of a process where the most important is the search itself, registering of the idea and its development. I often use simple materials, which are interesting for me. It`s very important that most of them are natural and recyclable. Sometimes my works are “abstract”. I register temporary objects created by me briefly with minimal intervention or objects done by someone else, with a pragmatic goal, but recognized by me as a sculpture. I am also interested in the interpretation of the process of their creation itself. Other times my art is socially engaged and with it I make a metaphorical commentary on what is happening around us. I combine my works and series in conceptual installations, which I define as site-specific, because I always have the exact space in mind.
All of my works are result of my constant demand and empathy for the process of observation, research and creation of shapes and spatial relationships. Because it, sculpture, is always here all around us to provide new meaning and new life of the reality.
