About the space
Located in Sofia’s ideal center, Depoo gallery opened in early 2020. It was founded by a group of multidisciplinary artists working in the field of contemporary art and communication design – Niki Shushulkov, Tedi Liho and Vasko Slavkov (art director). All three of them stand behind the idea of creating a conceptual storehouse – a depot for contemporary art.
Since its opening and despite the Covid-19 measures the gallery has held more than 20 exhibitions and events. More than 30 local and international artists working in various media have presented projects ranging from site-specific, street art, digital art, photography, painting, graphics, drawing, object and installation.
The gallery aims to collaborate with artists engaged in a contemporary art practice, keen on realizing an in situ project in the white cube. Depoo’s policy develops solo, collaborative and collective projects of Bulgarian and international artists.
