Vladimir Ivanov, born in Varna, 1946. Graduated from the National Academy of Art in 1975. Art editor at Georgi Bakalov Publishers, Varna [1980 – 1990]. Stay and work in Holland 1990 – 1994/Dordrecht/Amsterdam; 10 solo exhibitions. Academic rank: 1998 – Associate Professor; 2004 – Professor. Professor at Varna Free University.
The artist works in the sphere of conceptual art, using a variety of media – from the drawing, through the print to the intervention into the city space.
Art is a research into the creative powers of man. It is an infinite question about the meaning of our existence, the limits of our knowledge and all that is left beyond. An uneasy journey towards ourselves. An endless trajectory through the problematic states here and yonder.
